On July 10th 2014 we were delighted to present Gin and Sausages by Peter Liversidge. From the artist’s bespoke gin stand Sipsmith served G & T’s in limited edition ‘GIN’ glasses hand etched by Peter, there were sausages made to Hubert Liversidge's (Peter’s grandfather) recipe and Peter’s ‘drinking songs’ jukebox provided the music. This event celebrated the launch of Liversidge’s affordable limited edition print The Rules of the Library.
“The ‘Rules of the Library’, our new limited edition print by the artist Peter Liversidge, offers standard library rules alongside instructions as to how to behave within many different organisations around the world, not that their sources are revealed. The edition of fifty, comprises two prints; Peter’s typewritten proposal and a silkscreen print of ‘The Rules’. Whether you have a library or not, this work appeals both to the individual and the institutional, offering a serious yet humorous reminder to keep looking and reading. Following the launch of the edition at our ‘Gin and Sausages’ event devised by Peter, we have 20 of the edition left. We are extremely grateful to Peter for the time and enthusiasm he has given to producing this unique print in support of Drawing Room Outset Study.” Mary Doyle, Drawing Room co-director
