RISO Thursdays! – Open Access Printing Sessions

RISO printing is a cross between screen-printing and photocopying, allowing you to produced duplicated images that still feel like unique prints.  It’s palette of 21 colours create a recognisable RISO aesthetic, and can also be combined to make many more tones.  Printing is also low cost and often considered more environmentally friendly than other printing methods, with the rice and soy based inks being made from waste from these industries.

Come along and try out RISO printing at our open access sessions on Thursdays, or at one of our forthcoming workshops.

Makers are welcome to use the studio and library for the whole afternoon (1-5pm) but will need to book a printing slot from 1-3pm or 3-5pm.  Book here.

Unless you are very experienced with using a RISO we recommend you undertake an induction, which will introduce you to our machine and give you a chance to learn collage printing while making two colour zine.  Inductions will be available throughout the month and will cost £45. Book here.

Everyone will be required to have a health and safety introduction to the building, and sign our user agreement on their first visit.

About our RISO:

Our machine is a RISO MZ1070, 2 drum colour machine, with 5 colour drums available in Black, Red, Green, Teal, and Orange.
