Tannery Arts is a small, independent charity concerned with supporting the professional development of emerging and established artists through the provision of affordable studios, promoting their practice through opportunities to exhibit work, develop projects, generate partnerships with local authorities, private property owners and social housing organisations as well as engage in learning activities.

Drawing Water is a collection of drawings and writings brought together by artist Tania Kovats. Believing that drawing is a mechanism for exploration as much as a tool for representation, Kovats presents drawings by map-makers, writers, shipbuilders, whalers, soldiers, sailors, artists, archaeologists, cartographers, scientists, uranographers, engineers and dreamers – a diverse selection united by the sense that in making the drawing they are looking for something.
Drawing – both her own and other people’s – is a key part of Tania Kovats’s practice, and she has long been interested in what drawing can do. In this book she brings together an eclectic selection of drawings of the sea, both her own and other people’s.
