ROCK PAPER SCISSORS 1 year anniversary!

Back

What a wonderful first year of our ROCK PAPER SCISSORS programme!

We would like to thank the five incredible artists, Meera Shakti Osborne, Rita Evans, Joy Yamusangie, Halima Akhtar and Amy Leung, who have designed and delivered a series of meaningful projects to local primary schools, families and teachers over the past year.

Thank you to the 500+ children, 8 teachers and 102 families who took part and contributed to the project, sharing their incredible ideas and drawings.

Thank you to our three workshop assistants, Solomon, Esme and Akhera, who have been fundamental to the success of the programme, working closely with the artists on ideas and supporting the children in the sessions.

The projects have explored and pushed the boundaries of what drawing is and what it can: generating sounds, creating worlds, changing perspectives, mapping ever changing spaces, exploring ourselves and translating emotions. From billboards and maps, to postcards and radio shows, we are excited to see what ROCK PAPER SCISSORS will bring us in its 2nd year!

Lastly, thank you to Freelands Foundation, whose support makes this programme possible.

Watch this space to hear about our new cohort of artists for 2021/22!
