This is a one-off workshop with lots of hands-on support, tuition and demonstrations by local Artist Josie Deighton. Working alongside a life model, we will look at how to capture quick poses fluidly, as well as work in layers on longer poses. We will work with wax, charcoal and coloured pencil to see how these work with the watercolour too.

It will be a very small relaxed class, you can ask questions at any time, receive real-time support. You will be insired by the nude figure model, as well as The Drawing Rooms extensive drawing library and current exhibition, Listening to the earth.

We will provide:

some 30 x 21cm 300gsm hot pressed watercolour paper

some pans of watercolour paint

some brushes

some pots and pallettes

some boards

some coloured pencils

Please bring any of your own materials you like working with. Something you don’t mind getting a little bit of watercolour paint on, just in case. Also something to take your drawings home with you.
