Opening times

1-5pm

Come along and complete your unfinished project at our shared studio day!

Do you have an incomplete drawing, poem, comic, knitting, sewing or some other project that you’d like to finish?

The afternoon will be a relaxed opportunity to work creatively in the company of others, along with artists who will be on hand to help advise you and break through any creative blocks you are experiencing or provide technical help if you’re lacking knowledge on next steps.

Textile artist and educator Alice Blackstock will support you to finish textile related projects. This could be how to cast off your first knitted jumper or how to sew the buttons back onto your favourite shirt. Through individual support you will have the opportunity to explain what is stopping you from finishing this particular piece and Alice will offer guidance and suggestions as well as demonstrating techniques that could help you to realise your idea or project. There will be some basic textiles supplies provided but do bring your own. Unfinished Day is also a chance to think and talk about what you do after you have finished this project and what techniques, ideas, processes or research you might like to explore next.

Hebah Aboud will be on hand for anyone looking to revisit and finish their writing projects. Whether you’ve been stuck on a story, poem, or idea, or just haven’t found the time to continue, Hebah will help reignite that spark. You’ll find visual prompts with pictures to inspire fresh ideas, as well as unfinished sentences that anyone can contribute to throughout the day—building a collective piece of writing. There will also feature a selection of poetry and illustration books to stir your imagination. For those looking to expand their vocabulary and find just the right words, our word wheel is a fun and useful tool to help get words flowing. Come by, get inspired, and give your writing the ending it deserves.

Drawing materials, fabric scissors, needles and some thread, buttons will available, however please do bring any other materials you might need to finish your specific project.
