Event Book Opening: These Fragments We have Shored Against Our Ruins: Neckinger by Mary Lemley Book opening and launch of Drawing Room Artists' Book Edition 2 December 2026, 6–7:30pm Back Reserve Your Place DSC_6041 Location Library Book here Images DSC_6039 DSC_5955 Join us for a rare opportunity to see inside the enormous book These Fragments We have Shored Against Our Ruins: Neckinger currently on display in the Library and Research Centre. The evening will start with an introduction by Mary to the large cloth hanging in the gallery as part of our current exhibition Listening to the earth, before heading into the library to see the two books on display, which explore at different scales experiences of the in- and out-going tides of the Neckinger River that were the starting point for the gallery work. Mary will open the large book and talk us through the pages and texts contained there and we will also listen to some sounds – water music that Mary was listening to around the time of the work being made. The evening will also launch a new Drawing Room RISO edition of the small book, a limited number of which will available to purchase.
