Stories from the Earth

This is a free, drop-in session for families wanting to get creative during half term – everyone is welcome!

In response to Drawing Room’s current exhibition Listening to the earth, creative facilitator Ranel Judge from Travel Through Art Studio will lead a playful workshop that invites children and families to experiment with colour, texture and natural materials and create artworks that tell a story!

The room will be set up with 3 making stations: collage, printmaking and painting. 3 artists will be around to help people experiment with the different types of making, and a note-taker will be floating about writing up the stories that people are illustrating.

At the end, the artworks can be taken home or included in an exhibition in the Community Studio at Drawing Room.

About Travel Through Art Studio

Travel Through Art Studio is an independent creative initiative creating opportunities for children and young people to explore, create and share their stories through the arts.

Rooted in self-led creativity, thoughtful facilitation and shared learning, the studio creates space for confidence, curiosity and individual creative voices to grow through visual art, storytelling, cultural exploration, exhibitions and creative exchange.

What began as a shared creative journey within our own family has grown into a wider creative community — delivering workshops, public exhibitions, cultural collaborations and international creative exchanges across the UK and internationally.

Our own children remain part of the studio’s creative story as young artists, while Travel Through Art Studio continues to create opportunities for many more children and young people to develop their ideas, explore their own styles and see their creativity recognised beyond the studio.
