Event Patrons Event – A secret place with Cornelia Parker 19 September 2013 Back Location Gallery Parker-Cornelia-3.jpg Artist Cornelia Parker invites you to join her on a visit to a place that is of special significance to her and her practice. The evening will begin with a visit to a gallery in N1, followed by a half hour walk with Cornelia who will highlight places of local dark history and personal significance en route to her home, where the evening finale will be a unique opportunity to view her personal art collection. Cornelia Parker (b. 1956, Cheshire) has had solo exhibitions at Baltic, Gateshead, Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, Whitechapel Laboratory, London, Wurttembergischer Kunstverein, Stuttgart, Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Turin, ICA, Philadelphia, Aspen Museum of Art, Colorado, Chicago Arts Club, and ICA Boston, A major mid-career retrospective is planned for The Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester in 2014. Parker's work is represented in many international collections including Tate, London, The Caixa Foundation, Barcelona/ Madrid, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. She was nominated for the Turner Prize in 1997.
