Movement & Migration

IMG_8153

A series of tailored school workshops were devised to explore themes of migration and sea voyage alongside Marc Bauer’s exhibition, Mal Ȇtre / Performance. The exhibition instigated discussion and hands-on activity including charcoal drawing, experimental animation, sound recording and spoken word.

Workshops were devised with St Johns C of E Primary School, Charlotte Sharman Primary School and Haberdashers Secondary School, coinciding with Black History Month. Drawing Room used P4C (Philosophy for Children) approaches alongside those of the teachers to sensitively uncover child-led, ethical questions around colonial histories and the contemporary refugee crisis that were referenced in the exhibition.
