Join us for our bi-monthly Life Drawing class and learn a new skill!

What happens when we let colour carry the emotion? Inspired by the expressive palettes of Henri Matisse and the emotional intensity of Vincent van Gogh, this session explores how colour psychology can transform figurative art. We will investigate the shift from analytical tonal rendering to instinctual saturated hues that reflect internal state using warm reds and oranges for vitality and passion and cool blues or purples for introspection and calm. We’ll focus on seeing the figure as a starting point, then pushing colour beyond description to capture mood, memory and sensation. If you’re looking to let go of rigidity, draw more spontaneously and create in a welcoming and safe space, this is just the event for you!

About Early Masterworks (EM) Life Drawing:

We create a welcoming and warm environment for all backgrounds, demographics, and skill levels at this creative social life drawing event to meet, drink, draw, and create! We do not instruct; instead, we invite participants to share. We believe that art connects people, and sharings improve creativity!

We host weekly themed untutored gatherings at a variety of one-of-a-kind places in London. You may have also heard of us because of the work we have done with the National Gallery, Open House Festival London, SOHO HOUSE, Urbanism/Architecture Bi-City Biennale (UABB), The European Biennial of Contemporary Art and more.
