Re-discovery: a creative group for those living with young onset dementias and their carers

Our creative community for those living with dementia and their carers has been going since Summer 2024, and is a wonderful place to explore and develop creativity, experiment with materials and processes, and discover themes in the works on display in our current exhibitions.  These varied sessions have involved practical making led by artists, that have seen us draw and sculpt, make t-shirts, try indigo dying, make outdoor cyanotypes and comic books.  Join us for some creativity and discussion or just meeting and connecting with other people over a cup of tea in a relaxed and friendly setting.

We meet on a Friday during our exhibitions, from 1-4pm.

We have space for 16 participants at each session, please book by emailing [email protected]

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.

The sessions are co-facilitated by artist and Rare Space coordinator Charlie Harrison and Drawing Room librarian Yamuna Ravindran.

From 2024-2026 Drawing Room is working in partnership with Rare Space on these sessions.  Rare Space is an exciting new venture for Rare Dementia Support (RDS) which brings together and celebrates the creative and cultural life of RDS members, both in person and online.
