Her practice explores an expanded approach to printmaking and photography as well as the collaborative nature of art production and the communities of interest that give rise to the creation and dissemination of art and ideas. Throughout August she is using the gallery as her studio space, setting it up as a screenprinting studio to which she will invite collaborators to open up dialogue through printing. The in conversation will explore Ciara Phillips' working methods and her current research towards a new body of work. Phillips will have a solo exhibition at the Showroom, London in October this year Ciara Phillips was born in Ottawa, Canada, and is currently based in Glasgow. She studied Fine Art at Queen's University, Kingston, where she received a BFA in 2000, and at the Glasgow School of Art where she received an MFA in 2004. She has upcoming exhibitions at The Showroom, London, and at the Neues Museum Nürnberg and she will artist-in-residence at St. John's College, Oxford in 2014. In 2010 Ciara started Poster Club, a collaborative project with Laura Aldridge, Anne-Marie Copestake, Charlie Hammond, Kendall Koppe, Nicolas Party, Tom O'Sullivan and Michael Stumpf.
