*Director’s Circle, Drawing Patrons & Drawing Friends visit*

All our Drawing Room supporters are warmly invited to a breakfast tour by the artist of Carroll Dunham’s exhibition Open Studio & Empty Spaces, kindly hosted by  Galerie Max Hetzler, London, on Friday 21 March 2025, at 10am.

Since the 1970s, Carroll Dunham (b.1949) has developed a unique pictorial language encompassing painting, drawing, print and sculpture.  Drawing on the art historical canon but also on pop culture including sci-fi and cartoons, Dunham revisits enduring themes that comprise our existence – trees, guns, the planet, bathers and wrestlers amongst others – exploring abstraction and figuration, to create energetically-charged works. The exhibition presents eight large-scale paintings from 2024 and ten drawings from 2023, which centre around the artist’s studio. Drawing is the backbone of Dunham’s practice.
