Find out more about Drawing Room, what we do, and our relationship with studio provider Tannery Arts.
Tannery Arts is a small, independent charity concerned with supporting the professional development of emerging and established artists through the provision of affordable studios, promoting their practice through opportunities to exhibit work, develop projects, generate partnerships with local authorities, private property owners and social housing organisations as well as engage in learning activities.
Drawing Room is the place for people of all ages and backgrounds to discover contemporary drawing.
After 20 years of nomadic existence, we finally have a chance to secure a permanent, purpose-built home in Bermondsey, southeast London, opening in 2023. But we need your help to raise the remaining funds vital to getting this important project over the line.
Drawing is key to our creativity and it lies at the core of the making process. Our new space will will be somewhere you’ll be able to unlock drawing’s potential for yourself, through free exhibitions showcasing and supporting artists at all stages of their careers.
Our dedicated learning space will offer year-round activities for children, families, schools and the wider community, and our unique Library & Research centre will be open for everyone to explore contemporary drawing.
We are close to making this a reality, but we cannot do this without your help.
Please donate here and help us secure a home that brings the unlimited potential of drawing to audiences across the UK and beyond. You can also enjoy the benefits of Drawing Room membership from as little as £50 a year by clicking here.

Drawing Room’s mission is to champion the unlimited potential of drawing to help us understand ourselves, each other and our evolving world.
Drawing Room’s new permanent home will be a welcoming, open-door hive of creative activity — both an international hub for the latest thinking around drawing and a neighbourhood gallery that uses drawing to connect artists and local audiences.
Our new home will allow us to sustain a year-round exhibition and artist-led events and projects programme, free at the point of delivery for families, school pupils, teachers, and community groups, encouraging artists and visitors alike to use drawing to experiment, make ambitious artworks and take risks.
Drawing Room is a division of Tannery Arts Ltd, an independent non-profit organisation comprising a studio provider, Tannery Arts, and a public gallery, Drawing Room. Tannery Arts provides studio space, support and resources for artists. Drawing Room presents a curated exhibition and engagement programme with an international perspective and is the UK and European Centre for the exploration, appreciation and expression of drawing. Together a site and catalyst for ideas, making and display; bringing the processes of art and artists to a wider public.
