Jasmine Johnson’s commission for Annotations II continues to explore an ongoing interest in love addiction, this time in relation to physical isolation. Johnson’s drawing residency explores the ordeal of being alone in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic; messages and still-life photographs from queer people living in cities around the world inform the drawings.

Amelia Barratt’s Annotations project connects drawing with the voice, sound and the written word. It revolves around an elusive librarian, a rendition of a character frequently used in Barratt’s written work. She is anachronistic, fearful, droll and finely tuned to the minutiae of her everyday environment.
