About the work

‘Wolf moon’ is a part of a series of works on paper that are drawings of the full moon, or lunar cycle. We have become increasingly solar – or ‘on’ all the time. Following a Lunar cycle allows for different ways of being or experiencing things. I am interested in how there are other clocks that mark time, seasonal, lunar, tidal; things less seen, with their own rhythms and cosmologies that affect us. As above, so below. The ‘Wolf Moon’ is the name given to January’s full moon.

Tania Kovats is professor of Drawing and Making at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, University of Dundee.
