About the work

This is a freehand pen and ink drawing in white ink over a black ink-wash ground, on paper. It is made of a triangle mesh with rectangular forms. Small individual lines meet, to form longer lines within the mesh, without the use of a straightedge, etc. This work is part of a series named Horizon, which began around ten years ago. Works from the series are represented in permanent public collections including 
de Young Museum, San Francisco and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, which currently has one on display.
