Ryan Orme November Year Jan-24 Medium Crayon and pastel on paper Dimensions 29.7 x 21 cm Nominated by Rana Begum About the work Last November, we invited everyone to ours for drinks , and then planned to walk across to the park to watch the fireworks together. We opened the door and beers for our friends and said hello and suddenly the evening had gone and the first bangs interrupted the sound of people talking -everyone ran over as it started but between the tiny shoes and the hats and the earmuffs, we managed to miss most of it, and then settled for watching our friends watching the fireworks from the back, because as it turns out the noise still makes Reya cry…(not sure how we managed to forget that part). This seems to happen a lot now ; we sit at the sidelines of how things were before, watching from the middle of somewhere new.
