This ensemble was part of the installation Barter Zone, which focused on a field of reflection on “affected bodies” and the precariousness of relationships in societal changes between human groups and our environment. “How does the body fit into a globalised world? What can we learn from the countries of the South? Anti-racial and feminist struggles, and those for equal rights and freedoms, should find common ground, as they ultimately stem from the violence of colonial legacies and imperialism, the current markers of global economic, identity and ecological crises. As reflected in the archipelagic thinking of Édouard Glissant, Relationships are at the heart of the living process and of all things. It’s what’s left for us to maintain an ecology of well-being, and of thought. New forms of humanity must be invented.
