Nick Goss National Express Sunrise Year 2023 Medium Watercolour on paper Dimensions 27 x 29.7 cm About the work National Express Sunrise is part of a series of drawings and paintings made over the last five years based on the interior of a coach or bus, looking past the driver into an eerie water logged landscape. The starting point for the works have been photos taken in the cabs of various London buses and taxis exploring the objects and mementos that decorate these public/private spaces. Using the architecture of the split windows and mirrors to distort and refract the limbo like landscapes that unfold beyond the lone driver.
