About the work

This is a drawing of Trump’s militia men from the January 6th attempted coup at Capitol Hill, Washington. The ornate gates they stand protecting, lead back to the ‘glory days’ they want to drag us all back to. The title “Rust, Mold and Parasites”, references an article covering a health and safety inspection of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago golf resort. The health inspector found there to be 78 cases of rust, mold and parasites present throughout the kitchen and dining areas. I find this to be an apt metaphor for the sociopathic ‘strongmen’ so destructive in the world today; their veneer of power, grandeur and respectability merely gilding a rotting system beneath.
