About the work

Drawing is where all my paintings begin life. When I draw I usually work quite quickly and the more successful attempts appear on the paper in quite an unthinking way. There’s a unique energy about making marks with a crayon, a piece of charcoal or a stick – it captures a personal truth unlike any other form.
