About the work

Structured from a grammar of geometric elements, the collage utilises simple industrially produced materials chosen for their precision and modularity. Tensions result in the process of making, between systematic meditative ritual and industrial perfection. The rationality of the grid is disrupted by the eccentricities and minute imperfections of hand painting and hand placement. These drawings act as precursors, constituting a reservoir of forms from which future possibilities can be drawn.
