Jeff McMillan Velocity (study) Year 2023 Medium Spray paint on found paper Dimensions 21 x 14.7 cm Top pick Selected by Gary Hume, artist, & Cornelia Parker, artist About the work This is from a series developed over the years using found paper, usually from flea markets or boot sales to describe found objects unique to a particular place. A small empty box picked up near my studio gives the work its form and title, while the spray paint literally blurs the line – I want the drawing to retain a haptic reminder of the object and to be both not-quite sculptural and not-quite pictorial either.
