Giulia Ricci Order / Disruption no.76 Year 2023 Medium Indian ink and pencil on paper Dimensions 21.4 x 32 cm Top pick Selected by Victoria Cantons, artist About the work Order/Disruption no.76 is part of a series of drawings on paper I have been working on for nearly two decades. The relationship with the rural landscape I grew up in (in Emilia Romagna, Italy) has been central in the development of these pieces. I have been trying to translate into abstract patterns the embodied experience of human-made order and control over the land through farming and landscape engineering; I restarted working on this series following the destructive flooding that happened in my native region in May 2023.
