Jackson Pollock is quoted to have said: „Art is coming face to face with yourself.“….…I am not sure if that is helpful, because when you are alert, everything you do is coming face to face with yourself. Getting dressed is coming face to face with yourself…. Filling in a job application is coming face to face with yourself… Having a child is coming face to face with yourself…. Paintings are just one more of these coming face to face situations….But they might give the face you come face to face with a more concrete form. In my case a face of a frightened cat.

Career Highlights

Recent exhibition include a presentation of Videoworks and Animation at the Sprengelmuseum in Hannover. The Painting series “Dark Dogs Frightened Cats” was first shown 2023 at Z3 Contemporaries in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany. The Museum Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf acquired a Frightened Cat Painting for their collection. The same year the photographic series “Objects of Significance” was shown at Rupert Pfab Galerie and 12 works of the series have been acquired by the Draiflessen Collection. Later in 2024 a book of the series will be published.  Previous exhibitions include the Kunstmuseum Bonn, the Wilhelm Hack Museum in Ludwigshafen, Kunsthalle Mannheim and the Royal Academy.

Works are in the Collection of the Museum Kunstpalast, the Collection of the Wilhelm Hack Museum , The Collection Willi Michel in Switzerland, the  Falkenberg Collection, The Deutsche Bank Collection , The Werner Dohmen Collection , Melitta Artcollection , Collection of the Royal College of Art.
