About the work

My artwork comes from a parallel fantasy world I am building that explores social issues in reality, such as historical violence, as well as art history. This study depicts me as a spectral elven head with a castle sprouting at the top that is encountered by a small figure with a horse at the site of a broken bridge.

Career Highlights

Hardeep Pandhal has shown work in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including Midlands Art Centre (MAC), Birmingham (2025, forthcoming) and British Art Show 9 (2021 – 2022).

Pandhal was selected for Bloomberg New Contemporaries in 2013, shortlisted for the Jarman Award in 2018 and received the Paul Hamlyn Award for Artists in 2021.

His work is in numerous collections, including those of the Arts Council, the British Council and the Gallery of Modern Art Glasgow.
