Chantal Joffe lives and works in London. She completed a BA in fine art at the Glasgow School of Art in 1991 and an MA at the Royal College of Art in 1994. Whether her canvases measure ten inches or ten feet, Joffe aims not for realism but for brutal honesty. Joffe recently created a large-scale and permanent artwork for London’s new Elizabeth Line station at Whitechapel. Her work is currently on view in the exhibition Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood curated by Hettie Judah at Arnolfini, Bristol until 2 June 2024 (then touring). Her upcoming solo exhibition Chantal Joffe: My Dearest Dust opens at Skarstedt Gallery, New York, USA on 8 May until 15 June 2024.
