Thýn works in, and with, the medium of photography, although characteristically his work crosses the borderlines of the medium, pushing beyond into installation and interventions.

About the artist

Jiří Thýn (b.1977, Prague) lives and works in Prague. Graduated from Prague Academy of Applied Arts (2006); and Academy of Fine Arts, Prague (2003). Residencies include Visegrad Artist residency stipend at Triangle Arts Center & Futura Center for Contemporay Art, New York (2011); and Ministry of Culture Artist residency stipend at PROGR, Bern (2007).
