About the work

I tried to make this drawing in the same way I make collages. First by sketching the image which was originally a painting I'd made of Fidel Castro. Then using the textures of painting marks and different material weaves, I was able through a kind of brass rubbing method, pick up these patterns and apply them to the drawing, building it up in layers to form an abstract version of the image.
