About the work

My paintings often depict relationships between figures that seem to oscillate between generous acts and refusal or violence. Are we observing the administering of holistic care or combat? Dance or ritual? Lungs hold on to the outside of their garments, these characters seem to be held in place by the brittle air surrounding them.
