About the work

David Osbaldeston is known for working with drawing and animation as a changeable line of thought to produce installations which are often connected by the manipulation of language and printed matter. His interests in structures of human behaviour and organisation are often realised through mimetic and reiterative processes of making, which unfold in repeating sequences or multiples.

Born 1968 UK, David Osbaldeston lives and works in Scotland & Manchester. Graduated from MA Fine Art, Manchester (2002); and Rijksakedemie, Amsterdam (2010).

I am interested in an art that transforms materials through systems or processes in a way that questions my association to fixed forms and identities. The ongoing concern is to reconcile the world as it presents itself with the world that is conveyed through language.
