About the artist

Tim Etchells (b. UK, 1962) is an artist and writer based in the UK. He is currently Professor of Performance & Writing at Lancaster University. Etchells' work shifts between performance, visual art and fiction. He has worked in a wide variety of contexts, notably as the leader of the world-renowned Sheffield-based performance group Forced Entertainment. He has exhibited and presented work in major international institutions including Tate Modern; Cubitt; Hayward Gallery; Bloomberg SPACE, London; Turner Contemporary; The Grundy; Compton Verney, UK; Witte de With, Rotterdam; and MUHKA (Antwerp).
