About the artist

Born in Bratislava, Katarina Burin lives and works in Cambridge. Graduated from BA Fine Arts, University of Georgia, Athens (1999); ME at Skowhegen School of Painting and Sculpture (2001); and MA Fine Arts at Yale School of Art, New Haven (2002).

Selected solo and two person exhibitions include Katarina Burin: Irrational Attachments, Providence College Galleries (PC–G), Providence (2020); a low storey between two others, Katarina Burin and Farhad Mirza, Anthony Greaney, Somerville (2019); Authorship, Architecture, Anonymity: The Impossible Career of Petra Andrejova-Molnàr, Bennington College (2019); Žijeme (We Live or Living), VI PER Gallery, Prague (2018); and Petra Andrejova-Molnár – Contribution and Collaboration, The Neubauer Collegium for Culture and Society, Chicago (2015). Awards include the Radcliffe Institute Fellow at Harvard University (2017-2018); the Graham Foundation Publication Grant (2014); the James and Audrey Foster prize from the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston (2013); and the Schloss Solitude fellowship (2012). Residencies include IASPUS in Stockholm (2020-2021).
