ROCK PAPER SCISSORS

Eleanor Bedlow

The autumn term of our ROCK PAPER SCISSORS afterschool club was led by artist Eleanor Bedlow, whose own work explores interpretation of objects and place through a child’s perspective. She led the group  through a variety of playful processes that transformed two-dimensional drawings into three-dimensional paper forms, and back into 2D by observational drawing.

Eleanor produced two ROCK PAPER SCISSORS family activity sheets in 2020 which were distributed digitally over lockdown. Squash & Stretch and Drawing Sculpture can be downloaded here, sharing creative ideas about how to draw strange shapes and forms.

DRAWING SCULPTURE

Eleanor Bedlow studied drawing at The Prince’s Drawing School (2008) and completed the studio painting programme at the Turps Art School (2018). She creates sculptural play areas of precarious mixed media artworks. Her drawings and sculptures inform each other, creating a collection of inanimate anthropomorphic forms.
