Thu 8 October 2020 : 4:00pm – 5:30pm
We invite teachers, artists and educators to an interactive Zoom workshop led by artist Alexis Teplin.
In this practical online session, Alexis will share her approaches to hands-on drawing and experimental costume-making; a film screening and voice recordings will reveal the children’s experience of her recent primary school intervention. Charlotte Sharman Primary School staff, Laura Nichols and James Heartly, will also be in discussion about the projects impact on children’s wellbeing and its relevance to the recovery curriculum, in the context of current challenges teachers face.
This is the second event in Drawing Room’s new Teachers’ Assembly series, which seeks to break down the distinctions between artist and teacher, studio and classroom, and promote drawing practice as a central part of creative pedagogy in schools.
