Heather Phillipson:

Heather Phillipson (b. 1978 London, UK) lives and works in London, UK. Studied at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff, UK (2001); PhD at Central St Martins College of Arts and Design, London (2004); and Middlesex University, UK (2008). Phillipson works across video, sculpture, music, drawing and poetry. She is an award-winning poet and has published three volumes of poetry. She was named a Next Generation Poet (2014), received Poetry magazine's Friends of Literature prize (2016), and writes a regular column for ArtReview magazine. She also received the Film London Jarman Award (2016). Select solo projects include the Fourth Plinth, Trafalgar Square (2020); an online commission for Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago (2018); a sculptural commission for Art on the Underground's flagship site at Gloucester Road, London (2018); a major solo exhibition at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead (2018); Screens Series, New Museum, New York (2016); Whitechapel Gallery, London (2016); Frieze Projects New York (2016); 32nd São Paolo Biennale, Brazil (2016); Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt (2015); the 14th Istanbul Biennial (2015); and Performa New York (2015).
