Jean-Luc Moulène (b. 1955, Reims, FR) lives and works in Paris, FR. Studied MA Arts Teaching, Université Paris, 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, FR (1979); and BA Literature, Paris 1 (1978). Moulène first came to acclaim in the early 1990’s as a producer of singularly enigmatic, at times profoundly visceral photographs; only in the past decade have audiences begun to recognize his equally significant sculptural practice, which Moulene has underscored via a sequence of prominent international exhibitions. Select career highlights include the Taipei Biennial (2004 /2016); Sharjah Biennial (2010); the First International Biennial of the Image (2007); the Venice Biennial (2003); the Sao Paulo Biennial (2002); and Documenta X (1997).
