Jamie George (born, 1980) lives and works in London. Studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths (2006); MFA (Sculpture) the Slade School of Fine Art (2009); and received his PhD from Cambridge School of Art (2013). Awards include Gasworks International Fellowship (2012); residency at Vasl Artist-Collective, Pakistan (2012); Cocheme Fellowship from Central Saint Martins, hosted by AIR Studios (2014). He was selected for the OUTPOST Members' Show, Norwich, UK (2016). He was also commissioned to develop the screening event Buildings, Rooms and Things for Glasgow Sculpture Studios, Glasgow, UK (2016). George has worked on projects and commissions with The Showroom; SPACE Studios; and Wysing Arts Centre. Select exhibitions include those at Organhaus Gallery (China); Jerwood Space; Blaine|Southern; Drawing Room; and Focal Point Gallery.
Jamie George's drawing is one of the most abstracted works in his White Flag series which examines notions of adolescence and objecthood and uses xerographic printing tinted with wallpaper paste.
