Suzanne Treister:

Suzanne Treister (b. 1958, London) was a pioneer of digital and web-based art in the early 1990s, developing fictional worlds and international collaborative organisations. Her projects often comprise fantastic reinterpretations of given taxonomies and histories that examine the existence of covert, unseen forces at work in the world, whether corporate, military or paranormal.

Recent solo shows include: Post-Surveillance Art, Maggs Bookshop, London (2014); HEXEN 2.0, for Fig-2 at ICA, London (2015), Cleveland Institute of Art, USA (2013); P.P.O.W, New York, USA (2013); Science Museum, London (2012); The Real Truth: A World’s Fair, Raven Row, London (2012).
Recent group shows include: L'avenir (looking forward), 8th Biennale de Montréal, Canada (2014-15); Social Factory: 10th Shanghai Biennale, China (2014-15); Systemics #2 - As we may think (or the next world library), Kunsthal Aarhus, Denmark (2013); The Whole Earth. California and the Disappearance of the Outside, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, Germany (2013); Mutatis Mutandis, Secession, Vienna, Austria (2012). Forthcoming shows include: RARE EARTH, Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary-Augarten, Vienna, Austria (2015); Les jeux de l'art, Centre Pompidou, Paris, France (2015)
