Suzanne Treister:

Suzanne Treister (b.1958, London) lives and works in London. Studied at St Martin's School of Art, London (1978-1981) and Chelsea College of Art and Design, London (1981-1982). By utilising various media, including video, the internet, interactive technologies, photography, drawing and watercolour, Treister engages with eccentric narratives and unconventional bodies of research to reveal structures that bind power, identity and knowledge. Often spanning several years, her projects comprise reinterpretations of given taxonomies and histories that examine the existence of covert, unseen forces at work in the world, whether corporate, military or paranormal. Select solo exhibitions and events include HFT, The Gardener Exhibition Research Lab, Liverpool Biennial,  Liverpool, UK (2016); HEXEN 2.0, Fig-2 ICA, London, UK (2015); Post-Surveillance Art, Chisenhale Gallery, London, UK (2014); In The Name of Art and Other Works, Annely Juda Fine Art, London, UK (2013). Select group exhibitions include New World Order, Casula Powerhouse, Sydney, AU (2016); Artifical Intelligence, Hartware Medien Kunst Verein, Dortmund, DE (2015); Anonymity no longer an option, Pierogi, The Boiler, New York, US (2015); ING Discerning Eye, Mall Galleries, London UK (2014); Sex Shop, Folkestone Triennial Satellite Exhibition, Folkestone, UK (2014).
