Jane Dixon:

Born 1963 Lancashire, Jane Dixon lives and works in London. Graduated from MA in Printmaking from the Royal College of Art (1988).

Dixon's practice explores the conceptual alignment between subject and method. The rubbed drawings of her recent series are a continuation of her interest in the relationship between the real and the artificial or invented.

Her work is held in public and private collections including Yale Center for British Art, New Haven; The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge; V&A, London; The British Museum, London; Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Birmingham; Arts Council Collection, London; and Kasser Foundation, New Jersey. 

Selected solo exhibitions include Regeneration: Works on Paper, Tokyo Gallery + BTAP, Tokyo (2008); Under False Colours, Tokyo Gallery, Tokyo and Yokohama Portside Gallery (2004); Under False Colours, Djanogly Art Gallery, Nottingham (2004); and Parallel Objects, Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge (2000). Awards include Jerwood Drawing Prize - Judges special commendation (2012); The Bryan Robertson Trust, Artist Award (2007); Arts Council of England, Awards to Artists (2005 and 2003); Kettle’s Yard and New Hall Artist Fellowship, University of Cambridge (2000-2001); Rothko Fellowship, Mark Rothko Memorial Trust (1997); and Rome Scholarship in Printmaking, British School at Rome (1989–90).
