David Haines:

David Haines (b. 1969, Nottingham) is a British artist based in Amsterdam. Haines studied at Camberwell School of Art in London and The Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. Haines works with a range of media, predominantly drawing and video. His work is featured in the publications ' Vitamin D2' ( pub. Phaidon) 'Interdisciplinary Encounters - Hidden and Visible Explorations of the work of Adrian Rifkin' (pub. I.B.Tauris) and Roger Malbert's forthcoming book 'Drawing People' ( pub. thames and Hudson). His work has been exhibited in the Stedelijk Museum, De Appel and the New Art Space (NASA) in Amsterdam. In the UK he has shown at The Turner Contemporary, MIMA, Fruitmarket Gallery and the Bluecoat. In 2011 he exhibited as part of the 12th Istanbul Biennial. Recent solo exhibitions include Radiant Bodies at Upstream Gallery, Amsterdam and Discoveries at Art Basel Hong Kong (2014). He was awarded the Jeanne Oosting Prize in 2012.
