Danny Rolph:

Born London 1967, Danny Rolph lives and works in London. Graduated from MA Painting at Royal College of Art (1993).

Rolph’s triplewall and canvas paintings construct their grammar of signs through material engagement and unprincipled investigations into the history of the ‘pictorial’. Driven by a unique approach to colour he consistently produces compositions with attitude and visual dexterity.

His works are held in public and private collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and Tate, London.

Selected solo exhibitions include The Orchard, Barbara Davis Gallery, Houston (2019); Jerriais, CCA galleries, Jersey (2019); WCW, 532gallery, New York (2018); Encounters, CCA galleries, Jersey (2017); Painted on the sky, Barbara Davis Gallery, Houston (2016); Recollection, 532gallery, New York (2015); Atelier, E.S.A.D., Valence (2013); Ten minutes from now, Eden Rock Gallery, St.Barths (2011); Brasilia, Koraalberg Gallery, Antwerp (2010); Simultaneous Dreams, AR/ Contemporary, Milan (2009); There is no such thing as pure, Hales Gallery, London (2006); Rutherford, Newlyn Art Gallery (2005); and Locations, Chapter, Cardiff (2002).
