Julie Verhoeven:

Julie Verhoeven (b.1969, Sevenoaks, Kent, UK) lives and works in London. Verhoeven first trained in fashion at Kent Institute of Art & Design from 1985-1987. After graduating she worked as an assistant to John Galliano until 1991. Verhoeven launched her fashion label, Gibo in 2002 with 2 flagstone boutiques in London and Milan. Verhoeven has collaborated with Louis Vuitton, Versace, M.A.C, H&M, Peter Jensen, Chloe, Space NK, Melissa, ASOS, Loewe, amongst others and musicians Graham Coxon , Fischerspooner and  Primal Scream. She was made an Honorary fellow of Royal College of Art in 2013 , and has taught fashion on the MA at Central Saint Martins since 1996. Selected solo exhibitons include: Julie og Jimmy go Dogging, Hordaland Kunstsenter, Norway ( with Jimmy Merris); Whiskers Between my Legs, ICA, London (2014); Your Fly is Open, Stedelijk Museum's-Hertongensosch, The Netherlands (2013); Ladies, Lets Rip!, The Holburne Museum, Bath (2013); Galeria Melissa, Säo Paulo and New York (2012); Meyer Kainer, Vienna (2012); Peles Empire, London and Romania (2012); Gluteus Maximus, A show in two parts, ZINGERpresents, Amsterdam (2011); Pretty Please, Savage School, Vyner Street, London (2010); Rubber Necking,The White Cubicle, George and Dragon Public House, London (2009); and Fannying Around, Concrete at The Hayward Gallery, London (2009).
