About Richard Grayson:

Richard Grayson (b.1958) is an artist, curator and writer. Studied at East Herts Collage of Art and Design (1976-1977) and Newcastle upon Tyne Polytechnic (1977-80). He was a founding member of The Basement Group and Projects UK, Newcastle upon Tyne (1979-84); and The De La Warr Pavilion presented a five-year retrospective of his work (2010). Grayson has curated exhibitions including The World May Be Fantastic, The Sydney Biennale, Sydney (2002); A Secret Service, Hayward Gallery touring exhibition (2006); Polytechnic, Raven Row, London (2010); and Worlds in Collision, The Adelaide Festival, Adelaide (2014). Select solo exhibitions include Postcards from the Edge, Bortolami Gallery, New York (2019); Possessions_inc, an online video project with Matts Gallery, London (2016 and ongoing); The Magpie Index, Matts Gallery, London (2012); The Golden Space City of God, Kunst Museum, Thurgau (2010); and Matts Gallery, London (2009). Select group exhibitions include Speech Acts: Richard Grayson and Matt Mullican, UTS Gallery, Sydney (2015); His Master's Voice, la Panacee, Montpellier (2015); The Kyiv Biennale (Ukraine), Kyiv (2012); and The Sydney Biennale, Sydney (2010). His works are held in public and private collections including the Arts Council Collection, London; the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth; the Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide; and The National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne.
