About Anthea Hamilton:

Anthea Hamilton (b.1978, London, UK) lives and works in London. Graduated from the Royal College of Art. Hamilton works with sculpture, painting, moving-image and performance to manipulate and alternate the history and image of popular culture. In this manner, the artist expresses her preoccupation with the meaning of contingency and the effect of surprise. Select solo exhibitions include Anthea Hamilton Re-imagines, Kettle’s Yard, The Hepworth Wakefield (2016); Grasses: The Magazine Sessions, Serpentine Gallery (2016); Frieze Projects, New York, US (2016); LOVE IV: Cold Shower, with Nicholas Byrne, Schinkel Pavillon, Berlin (2016); Lichen!
