Samson Kambalu

Samson Kambalu (b. 1975, Malawi) lives and works in London. He received his BA (Fine Art and Ethnomusicology) from th University of Malawi (1999), followed by a MA (Fine Art) from Nottingham Trent University (2003) and a PhD (Fine Art) from Chelsea College of Art and Design (2015). He has recently won research fellowships based on his film and research interests with Yale University and the Smithsonian Institution. Kambalu's recent solo exhibitions include Tattoo City: The First Three Chapters (with guests), Castlefield Gallery, Manchester (2012), and Roseanne, Sai Gallery, Osaka (2009). His recent group exhibitions include Dakar Biennial, Senegal (2014); Nyau!, Espace D’art Contemporain, Porrentury (2014); The Book Lovers, Artist novels project, Cricoteka, Krakow (2014); The Book Lovers, De Appel, Amsterdam (2014); The Book Lovers, Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw (2013), and Luke Fowler: Pilgrimage from Scattered Points, HMVCurzon.
