Rana Begum

Rana Begum (b. Sylhet, Bangladesh, 1977) lives and works in London. She graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a BTEC Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art and Design (1996), and received her BA (Hons) Fine Art (Painting) from Chelsea College of Art and Design, London (1999) and her MFA in Painting from the Slade School of Fine Art (2002). She has had solo shows at Gallerie Mana, Istanbul (2014); Dhaka Art Summit, Jhaveri Contemporary, Bangladesh (2014); Art Brussels, Christian Lethert (2014); The Third Line, Dubai (2013); Galerie Christian Lethert, Cologne (2013); BISCHOFF/WEISS, London (2012), and Amrita Jhaveri, Mumbai (2011). Recent group exhibitions include Drawing Biennial 2015, Drawing Room, London (2015); The Language of Human Consciousness, Athr Gallery, Jeddah (2014); The Edge of Painting, The Piper Gallery, London (2013); ABC Art Fair, Berlin, with The Third Line (2012); Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, London (2012); Galerie Christian Lethert, Cologne (2012); The Art and Math of the Fold, Ft-Contemporary, Berlin (2011); The New Middle East, Willem Baars, Amsterdam (2011), and Common Logic, group show at IMT, London (2011).
