Mia Pearlman lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. The artist received her BFA in Architecture and Planning from Cornell University, Ithica, New York in 1996. Pearlman recently completed a large commission for Liberty Mutual’s new headquarters in Boston and has been commissioned by MTA to create window screens for the 80th Street A train subway station in Queens, New York. Solo exhibitions include: Mia Pearlman, The Study at Morgan Lehman Gallery, New York (2011), Mia Pearlman/Kinke Kooi, Plaatsmaken, Arnhem, Netherlands (2010) and Mia Pearlman: Maelstrom, Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Montgomery, Alberta (2009). Recent group exhibitions include: Lumina: Festival of Light, Cascais, Portugal (2015), Papermania!, Museum Kunst der Westkuste, Alkersum, Germany (2015), La Fete Du Printemps, Paris, France (2015), Paper Work, Center for Visual Art, Denver, Colorado (2014), PULP, Cohen Gallery, Alfred University, New York (2014) and Myths and Legends, Goyang Aram Gallery, Goyang, Korea (2013). The artist has received a number of grants and awards including the Bogliasco Fellowship, Liguria Study Center, Italy in 2011 as well as a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2008.
